Delhi International Film Festival

Delhi International Film Festival (DIFF) at a Glance

DELHI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL was conceptualized and created by The Social Circle in 2012, to celebrate 100 glorious years of Indian Cinema and New Delhi. DIFF is the catalyst for bringing people of New Delhi closer to the best of Indian and World cinema in the year of its centenary celebrations. Delhi became an indelible part of cinematic history when DIFF became its first ever International film festival.

A week long extravagance, usually held in December, DIFF grandly showcases all genres of cinema by screening close to 250 films, exhibiting 250 selected art works and featuring 50 literary works by NRI and Indian poets. This is possibly the only film festival in the world that not only toasts films, but also other artistic branches. DIFF has hosted hundreds guests, delegates, film makers, jury members, political personalities, diplomats, artists, litterateurs, film celebrities and other prominent personalities since its inception and is moving on with preparations for its next edition.

DIFF believes in the fact that Cinema always reflects the art, culture, conditions of living and people of the country. Hence, DIFF has always tried to promote Indian cinema abroad and also bring cinema from even the remotely known countries to India. In the years that have rolled by, Film Festivals from various countries have recognized this effort of DIFF, and joined hands to collaborate and work together towards a common goal of promotion of their culture, art and tourism through Cinema.
